Krista Muir - Accidental Railway

 

Press release: Montreal resident Krista Muir has been composing, recording, producing and touring her original music locally and internationally for over 10 years. As "Lederhosen Lucil" Krista released a number of independent singles and two full-length albums on her hypo records bedroom label. Her second album Tales From The Pantry ranked high on Canadian indie charts and became one of Earshot's Top 50 albums of 2003. Immediately following its release, "Lucil" toured North America and Europe with friend and co-conspirator DJ Kid Koala. After the release of her Apricota single in 2004, she spent much of 2005 as "Lucil" on tour throughout Australia, New Zealand, Texas, and Europe. In March 2006 Krista became a published author with the release of a full-colour art book exploring the eight eye candy filled years of Lederhosen Lucil entitled The Joy of Hosen: Lederhosen Lucil Up Close und Pictorial published by Mudscout Media. This book features her one-of-a-kind costume designs for her alter ego – reflecting her multi-disciplinary approach to music, design and performance. While mastering the art of baritone ukulele strumming while on tour in Europe, Krista composed a whole new body of creative work that she began recording in Toronto with band Fembots and finished mixing/producing in Montreal with Shane Watt in 2007. Another indie release, "Leave Alight" is a playfully winsome family of pretty songs underpinned by melancholy. Down to New Mexico and back. Over to Greece and back. So many places, languages, culinary influences and stories. After many more travels Krista returned to Montreal to record and experiment sonically on "Accidental Railway. (Indica Records – Oct 2008)." The sound track to her life, "Accidental Railway" contains reflections on love, reincarnation, weather systems, and includes a pull-out map by artist/producer Shane Watt that allows the listener to track the journey visually while brewing ginger tea and playing along with the hand written baritone ukulele chord charts. _______ Communiqué de presse: Résidente de Montréal, Krista Muir compose, enregistre, réalise et produit en spectacle sa musique originale tant au niveau local qu'international et ce, depuis maintenant plus de 10 ans. L'oeuvre nommée « The Joy of Hosen : Lederhosen Lucil Up Close and Pictorial » nous fait découvrir les costumes dessinés pour son alter ego. Entre deux séances de "grattage" de ukulélé sur la route en Europe, Krista compose un nouvel opus. Elle débute l'enregistrement à Toronto avec Fembots au Junkshop Studios et termine le mixage/production à Montréal avec Shane Watt au studio Haunted Hallway. Intitulé « Leave Alight », cette autre sortie indépendante est un amalgame de chansons joyeuses, familiales, teintées de mélancolie. Krista enregistre présentement un nouvel album à Montréal et collabore avec des artistes tels qu'Olga Goreas (Besnard Lakes) et Roxanne Arsenault (Donzelle). Video:
